One of the basic capabilities of cognitive radio is to adjust the radio parameters according to the chan- ging environment and user needs.An adaptation method which uses genetic algorithm and simulated annealing was proposed.The procedure of the proposed method was presented and multicarrier system was used for simulation analy- sis.Experimental results show that the proposed method enhances hill-climbing at the later stage of the search and the radio parameters optimized have higher fitness values than those optimized by pure genetic algorithm.The pro- posed method can also provide the best tradeoff of the objective functions,and the resulting parameters configuration is consistent with the weights of the objective functions.
