Josephson noise thermometry with HTS devices

We suggest that the very promising performance of Josephson devices based on high temperature superconductors (HTS) can provide new areas of application for a novel form of primary thermometer which has so far only been applied in the temperature range below 1 K. Both higher temperatures (up to 30 K) and much faster measuring times should be possible by using a novel dc SQUID readout system and by using recent improvements in electronic counter technology. >
