충돌기록항목에 따른 ACU의 에너지 저장용량 최적화 기법

Generally, ACU (Airbag electronic control unit) has massive capacitors to reserve the energy when a battery voltage of a vehicle is broken by hard crash. This reservoir capacitors are to guarantee the deployment of airbags and also record crash data including frontal/side acceleration data, firing current, internal/external faults occurred before the crash and so on. However, incorrect selection for capacitance may cause such unexpected problems as the crash recording is not completely performed or make the size larger compared to the desirable housing cover and PCB space of the ACU. So, this paper investigates the optimization for energy capacitance of the ACU using the empirical formula. This formula is established by considering an effect of temperature, the size of crash record data and the firing time when firing currents are generated after battery voltage is off. To verify this formula, the data acquisition system is used. The Labview and Matlab are used to simulate and compare the results with the simulation data.
