The invention provides a method and a device for sharing a video picture and returning to playing. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving a video snapshot request from a user; making a video selected by the user pause, recording a time point of the pause, and intercepting a static frame picture of the video selected by the user; generating interface data, wherein the interface data comprises a hyperlink of the static frame picture, an identifier (ID) of the video and the time point; receiving a video snapshot sharing request from the user, wherein the video snapshot sharing request comprises platform information about a third-party platform selected by the user; transmitting the interface data to the third-party platform to realize video snapshot sharing; and receiving a returning-to-playing request, and starting playing the video from the time point, wherein the returning-to-playing request is activated by the hyperlink shared by the third-party platform. By the method and the device provided by the invention, the video picture can be shared to the third-party platform, and the returning-to-playing of the video can be realized by the third-party platform.
