Experimental study on high-current pulse generator for electromagnetically induced acoustic emission

The high-current pulse generator which is used in non-destructive testing technique of electromagnetically induced acoustic emission (EMAE) is designed based on the economical efficiency and practicability. Using the energy storage of the capacitor, the pulse high current which the EMAE needs can be achieved by capacitor discharging instantaneous. Theoretical analysis and experiment of the generator is carried out. The maximum output current can reach 3000 A, when the discharge load is 0.04 Omega and 1 muH. Applying to the EMAE experiment, it can achieve the expected effect.
