A fault-tolerant control method and its applications in aerospace industry

The robust fault-tolerant control problem of satellite attitude control systems is studied in this paper. Considering the actuator faults, the solution of this problem is obtained for a H-infinity controller with circular disk pole constraints. The fault tolerant controller is designed to place all the closed-loop poles in a specified disk, constrain the H∞ norm level of the disturbance attenuation into a given range and guarantee the magnitudes of control inputs less than the given bound, as well. At last, a simulation of applying in telecommunication satellite avionics system with actuator faults shows the validity of the proposed method.
