The effect of the antenna performance and SAR on human's abdomen high sensitivity antennas for EMI application

Mobile communication becomes more and more important for the daily life. In recent years, people health awareness is higher, and people pay much attention to the impact of EMW (Electromagnetic waves). This research will design the dipole antenna and a human's abdomen model, which are all operates at 850MHz, and measures the relative permittivity of the designed human's abdomen model. Two different cases are analyzed and measured in this paper based on different distances between the dipole antenna and the cube phantom, which are 5 mm and 50 mm. The simulation results of S-parameter, peak gain, radiation efficiency and 2D pattern based on different distances are presented. We also do simulations of SAR and measure the changes about temperature. In the research, when using mobile phone placed on the abdomen, the mobile phone and the abdomen will influence each other. The results show that using Bluetooth headsets when speaking to the mobile phone will not only increase the operating frequency offset but also affect the radiation efficiency of mobile phones as well as the human body.
