Optimizing Intrusion Detection System using Genetic Algorithm

In this paper, we propose an efficient method to solve a problem of network intrusion that has been a difficult. Security of computers from harmful attacks has turn out to be a crucial matter. Detection of attacks is appropriate to harder hitch to chink in the field of Network Security. Denial of Service (DoS) attack is a hit which affects huge amount of computers in the world daily. Detection of DoS attacks and forestalling of computers since it is a major investigated area for researchers in the planet. This paper uses a genetic algorithm (GA) based approach, for formation of policy to recognize DoS attacks on the system is planned. A small general scheme of Intrusion Detection method, and associated discovery techniques is provided. The GA resolve on the KDD trophy 99 facts set to construct a imperative set that preserve to recognize attacks scheduled on the system.
