The EMF RATEL Service for Monitoring and Public Informing on EMF Exposure

Substantial technological utilization of electromagnetic field (EMF) for numerous wireless communication services caused the increased level of artificial EMF in environment, as well as inevitable human exposure to those fields. Thus, the anxieties of the general population, regarding unhealthy effects of this exposure, have been stimulated, initiating progressive systems for continuous EMF monitoring. The newest one is the Serbian EMF RATEL system, established on spatially distributed autonomous wireless monitoring stations, which perform longterm observation in order to timely inform the public on present EMF and EMF exposure level. This paper presents features of the EMF RATEL system, regarding its instrumentation and measurement, evaluation and analysis of measurement results, as well as sharing datasets of broad interest. The intention is that such EMF service should become a valued tool for prevention, protection and management of EMFs in environment.
