Another crisis in the sorrowland: COVID-19 in northeast Syria

NES was forced to confront SARS-CoV-2 amidst a slew of existing crises [1]. As it reaches its tenth year, the Syrian conflict remains one of the largest, longest, and most complex humanitarian emergencies, and estimates suggest that of the five million people in acute need of humanitarian assistance in Syria, 1.4 million reside in NES – the enclave run by the Autonomous Administration (AA) and controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces [2].
