QoS Provisioning in Mobile IPv6

Providing QoS guarantees and mobility support for Internet devices have become hot research points in the Next Generation Internet technologies, since mobile computing is getting more widespread. In this paper,the authors give an introduction to Mobile IPv6 and its enhancements currently used to improve its mobility performance, and the issues of QoS support in mobile environments are investigated. The authors also describe the issues of mobility support using RSVP and analyze advantage and shortcomings of the RSVP proposals supporting QoS in Mobile IPv6 that have been proposed recently. Finally,the authors make a future prospect for the research on RSVP and Mobile IPv6.
