A Plan for Controlled Access to Multiport Model Properties

Abstract The movement in industry to shared libraries of engineering component models for mechatronic system design is growing. One problem with robust use of such libraries is access to internal model details. Controlled access is a capability that permits a model owner to make available to a model user selected information of model details, according to user classification. Such a feature allows for varying levels of security for reading and modifying A model. This work describes a multiport modeling environment design based on a clear structuring of model information with the goal of supporting controlled access.
