Digital video subtraction angiography (DVSA) equipment. Angiographic technique in comparison with conventional angiography in different vascular areas.

Abstract Digital video subtraction angiography (DVSA) is a new technique permitting direct visualization of the heart and blood vessels after the intravenous injection of a relatively small quantity of contrast material. Selective catheterization and consequent hospitalization are not necessary. This article discusses the imaging equipment and radiographic procedures used and describes studies comparing the DVSA technique with that of conventional angiography. Case reports are included to illustrate the comparison.
