Convergent paradigms in the internet of things (CT-IoT)

The concept of Internet of Things (IoT) refers to sensors and actuators embedded in physical objects, ranging from cars to pacemakers, that are linked through wired and wireless networks, to the Internet. These embedded objects produce huge volumes of data flow to computers for analysis that could result in a rapid response and potentially allow for a high degree of automation. As of 2013 there were already 10 billion connected devices. The Internet of Things brings great promise with potential applications that includes smart cities, smart buildings, healthcare, industrial control, intelligent transportation, emergency response and environmental monitoring.
