Discrete optimization of a platform for a given loads

To make the product concurent on the market, optimization of structure is excessivly used. Design optimization can significatly reduce weight and production period, hence reduce costs and make product more profitable. Analysis and optimization procedure of structural design are in present time a part of numerical activities, especialy finite element competence. In this paper a discrete optimization of a platform for a given loads is done. Starting from design obtained from analytical procedures of Lloyd's Register, numerical optimization was done for three design variations of a platform with a goal to reduce platform's weight.
