An X-ray beam line for the energy range 5–20 keV

Abstract A beam line for the energy range 5–20 keV is described. The beam line features a monochromator containing four crystals arranged in two double crystal stages. These stages rotate in opposite directions resulting in a fixed-input fixed-output device. The second and third crystals are in a dispersive arrangement. A rhodium-coated fused-silica mirror upstream of the monochromator collimates 4 mrad of the synchrotron beam from the NSLS X-ray ring. A second rhodium-coated mirror downstream of the monochromator focuses the beam onto the sample.
