Stabilizing the operation of a nonisothermal CSTR: A model study using a single-variable nonlinear controller

Abstract A nonlinear control law based on internal model control incorporating an adaptive mechanism is obtained for a three-dimensional nonisothermal consecutive reaction in a CSTR. This model system provides typical process situations requiring ervo and regulatory control in the presence of load disturbance, noise, process—model mismatch and deterministic chaos. The performance of the controller is validated by simulation studies.
