System design and development of a strapdown MEMS air data attitude and head reference system based on self-adaptive Kalman filter

A novel method of designing and developing MEMS ADAHRS (Air Data Attitude and Head Reference System) dedicated to engineering application is introduced in this paper. And a new algorithm of ADAHRS based on self-adaptive Kalman filter is presented. In this ADAHRS algorithm, accelerations measured by accelerometers are corrected by air data, so as to clear the corrupted accelerations in case of maneuver. The results of vehicle-bore test and flight simulation test prove that the design of MEMS ADAHRS is reasonable and feasible, and the system can be applied to battle plane, as well as civil airplane.
