Corporate Social Responsibility Application in the Healthcare Sector: A Bibliometric Analysis and Synthesis

Thisarticlereviewstheliteraturetounderstandthecurrentstateofcorporatesocialresponsibility (CSR)applicationandcommunicationinthehealthcaresector.First,theauthorsprovideabibliometric analysisthatquantifiesthenumberofscientificpublicationsregardingCSRinhealthcareofthelast tenyears(2007-2016).Then,theypresentthetheoreticalframework.Startingfromabriefsummary ofCSRliterature,theauthorsexplainpeculiaritiesofthehealthcaresectorandcontextualizetheCSR debateinthehealthcarecontext,identifyingitscurrentapplicationandgaps.Theauthorsreviewnot onlytheapplicationofCSRinhealthcarebutalsoanalyzethetopicofCSRcommunication,aswell asthetoolsadoptedbyhealthcareorganizationstocommunicatetheirCSRactivitiesinthissector.
