An Approach to Decomposition of Workflow Models based on Petri Net

The effective analysis of models needs to utilize the structure reduction of workflow model. Based on the structure reduction methods of workflow nets, a simple and effective decomposition algorithm of free choice subnets for workflow nets was proposed, and the time complexity analysis was presented in the paper. Combining the algorithm proposed with the current structure reduction methods of workflow nets, the efficiency of model reduction is raised, and the models can be analyzed based on business instance subnets.
