SECTION 3 . Information Systems and Tech nolog ies

In spite of the wide spread use of communication networks in these days, the unreliable data transmission due to the limited resources of the link capacity and the involved uncertain dynamics of the networks has made control engineers apply their well-established control theory into the network systems. In this respect, this paper presents an initial investigation on robust supervisory control of communication networks for the stable and enhanced transmission capabilities. To this end, the communication network is modelde by a discrete event model including the uncertain dynamics. The robust supervisory control framework for the uncertain discrete event dynamic systems is developed to ensure the guaranteed minimal performance such as the maximal time delay in communication networks.
