Sliding mode control for turboshaft engine with variable inlet guide vane

This paper presented a sliding mode controller based on PID reaching law for turboshaft engine with variable inlet guide vane. After analyzing the physical model and mathematical model of compressor elaborately, component-level model of turboshaft engine is obtained. In order to facilitate the turboshaft engine control system design, small deviation linear model of turboshaft engine is achieved based on the component-level model. Taking the unavoidable uncertainties of turboshaft engine into consideration, sliding mode control method is used to construct controller on the basis of PID reaching law. Simulation results validate the effect of the proposed turboshaft engine modeling method and controller design method.
