Bridging the Gap between Measurement and Control

In planning a degree course in instrumentation and control engineering, the problem arises of how to structure the instrumentation content and to integrate it with the control content of the course. A previous paper! has discussed the general problem and put forward a framework for instrumentation as an academic discipline. This paper considers the narrower problem of the teaching of primary measurement and its satisfactory integration with the teaching of control engineering.
