Design of a 14-Bit 400 MS/s Segmented Current Steering D/A Converter

Based on TSMC's 0.25 μm CMOS technology,a 2.5 V 14-bit 400 MS/s D/A converter was designed using segmented current steering structure.In this D/A converter,high resolution band-gap reference,high speed switch driver and modified cascode unit current source were design to improve its performance.Simulation results showed that the D/A converter had an INL and DNL less than 0.5 LSB,and an SFDR up to 85.4 dB at a sampling frequency of 400 MHz and an output signal frequency of 199.8 MHz.
