In this study, the electronic expansion valve control algorithm for a heat pump was developed by using the mathematical model, The control algorithm consists of the superheat setpoint algorithm developed by using a neural network and the superheat control algorithm developed by using a fuzzy logic. To verify the effectiveness of the control algorithm, the rating test and the compressor speed change test were performed. Test results showed that the electronic expansion valve algorithm along with the mathematical model may be effectively used for the superheat control of a heat pump system.
