Spurious center-of-mass motion

Abstract A simple numerical procedure is given for the removal of states with spurious center-of-mass components. The method does not require explicit construction of the spurious states. It is shown that removal of spurious components signifivantly modifies the 16 O spectrum of Zuker, Buck and McGrory.
