공동체 활성화를 위한 일본 공민관의 변화특성연구

Community spaces have been developed with apartment housing in Korea as a marketing strategy, not as a base for communal culture. On the other hand, Japan has constantly developed kominkan for the past 60 years as a central community space. The systematic comprehension of this precedent cases can move up domestic community spaces in more desirable direction. The purpose of this research is to scrutinize the progresses of kominkan"s historical evolution, beyond just the hardware of kominkan including the meaning, function and contribution. The method of research is literature survey. Kugenuma kominkan has been remodeled two times during the last 60 years since three physical floor plans reflected corresponding social climates, changes in meanings, functions and contributions of kominkan were woven into corresponding time of those plans. The floor plans of Kugenuma kominkan have been analyzed in terms of historical change. The result showed the direction how the kominkan has evolved. This study showed community attached facilities could enhance the value of the local assets, and reinforce networks of local human resources. It has significant implication in direction of domestic community spaces henceforth.
