Profiling of rotation tools for forming of helical surfaces

This paper presents a generalized analytical method for profiling of all types of rotation tools for forming helical surfaces. The profile of these surfaces is specified discretely and there are no limits for its complexity, variety and determination in a certain section. A mathematical model is created which determines optimal calculation position providing such a space orientation of the tool at which rational geometry of the cutting tooth of radial relieved profile milling cutter is obtained. Research is carried out for the influence of the input information of profiling and adjustment of the tool on the accuracy of the helical surface.
