A Cost-Effective Approach for The Grid Integration of Distributed Renewable Resources

This paper is giving the main grid integration problems of a large-scale renewable generation in the case of Germany. The main focus thereby will lie on the identification of potential grid constraints which could jeopardise the concept of a grid-connected renewable generation. Additional aspects concerning the grid integration for renewables, such as costs but also the security and quality of the supplied energy will be also treated. Finally, an approach comprising different instruments for the grid integration of renewables will be presented and discussed.
