CENTRAL LOAD DISPATCHING SYSTEM FOR TOHOKU ELECTRIC POWER COMPANY OF JAPAN

A modern central dispatching system using duplicated supermini control computers and a general-purpose computer has been developed and placed in operation in February 1984. This system, which is at the top level of hierarchical systems including regional control centers and centralized control centers, schedules generation and transmission and controls the balance between load and generation. Its major functions include LFC (Load Frequency Control), ELD(Economical Load Dispatching), load forecasting, security monitoring, security analysis, contingency evaluation, in addition to basic functions such as man-machine control, data acquisition control, logging and statistical processing, etc.
