Wideband Echo Simulation and Its Application to SAR Image of Complex Targets

Compared to the narrow band signal, the wideband echo signal includes much more frequency components which have different scattering property with the center frequency. To simulate the scattering echo for the wideband synthetic aperture radar (SAR) more precise, the frequency domain based echo simulation method is proposed which considers the scattering properties of all frequency components. And the hybrid method that combines the geometrical optics (GO) and physical optics (PO), which considers the scattering of reflected rays and has a high calculation accuracy, is used to calculate the scattering property of each frequency component. With the wideband echo signal, the SAR image is generated to analyze to the impact of multiple scattering on complex target.
