Tall buildings are very slender more vulnerable to strong winds than earthquakes. Wind-induced vibration on tall buildings are largely due to buffeting, vortex-shedding, and wake. Wind-induced vibration on such tall buildings is a significant factor to determine habitation as well as stability of a structure. In this paper, vortex-shedding mechanisms are varied to investigate suppression of wind-induced vibration. Wind-induced vibration experiments were performed for five shapes including the circle model, the case that ribs and spirals were attached to the circular model, and the case that ribs and spirals were attached to the aerodynamic shapes for the circular section From the results of the wind-induced experiments ,the response reduction effects by ribs or spirals were similar. The reduction of response amplitude about 50% that of the basic circular section for the cross-wind direction was the case that ribs and spirals were attached to the aerodynamically shapes.
