Performance Analysis and Optimisation Procedures of a Parallel Fluid Dynamics Code for Thermal Comfort Assessment Applications

In this paper, we present the performance analysis of an existing parallel fluid dynamics code developed at the Chair for Computation in Engineering at Technische Universitat Munchen. Using the German national supercomputer HLRB II (SGI Altix 4700), performance factors were measured in order to discuss implications from the underlying hardware and to explore possible optimisation strategies.
