Chicago Meeting Highlights

H E 124th national meeting of the AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY to be held in Chicago, Sept. 6 to 11, will set new records for the number of sessions scheduled and the number of papers to be delivered. The exact figures are 169 and 1277, respectively. There are 2323 authors listed in the Abstracts of Papers for the meeting. The final program, published in this issue, consists of 41 pages—also a record. The bare cost of composition, printing, and paper for such a sizable number of pages is quite a sum, with more than 80,000 copies printed. The Division of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry is introducing a new feature which it is expected will become permanent. It is quite possible other divisions may follow it.
