Combustion model and numerical study of flue gas deviation in tangentially fired boiler

The multiphase fluid and combustion model of the boiler were analyzed in detail and established. Using the model, numerical simulation of the flue gas temperature and speed deviation in the horizontal sack of the tangentially fired boiler before retrofit was performed. The computation results were compatible with actual operation and the feasibility of the model was proved. Numerical study indicated that the reverse tangential upper-secondary air and small tangential circle can effectively reduce the temperature and speed deviation of the flue gas within the horizontal sack. After a comprehensive comparison, the reverse tangency of upper-secondary air was proved to be the more feasible retrofit plan.
