The high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio(PAPR) of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) signal limits its applications in power line communication(PLC).In order to obtain the appropriate PAPR,the paper proposes an improved low complexity algorithm,which combined the grouping prejudgment technique with companding to reduce the PAPR values.It introduces the system implementation methods and the simulation based on power line channel model.Simulation results show that the algorithm can improve the PAPR signal,reduce the error rate and have lower computational complexity.It effectively improve the performance of power line communication system.
