Difference in energy between cubic and hexagonal ice

The difference in energy between ice Ic and Ih has been determined calorimetrically in order to help test water–water potential energies. It is −50.5±2.2 J mol−1 at 200 K, and −47±∼3 J mol−1 when adjusted to zero temperature using measured vibrational frequencies.
