Evaluation of Urban Green Areas in the City of Akçakoca , Duzce in terms of Accessibility

Public active green space standards, construction law No. 3194 of the plan to be built on the basis of 10 m2 per person in the regulations "active green space" is defined as. Active green space should be appropriate size and balanced distribution in the city. The city should be able to achieve a regular and healthy environment with the development of the urban design concept. The selected research area of Düzce, Akcakoca city has quite a rich potential in terms of green areas, although the active green areas such as urban and neighborhood parks, playgrounds, playing fields seems to be inadequate in terms of quantity and quality. In this study, the distribution and amount of green space in the city and in the neighborhood scale, size and per capita rates in the city of Akcakoca were evaluated. The accessibility of urban green space in Akcakoca was evaluated based on effective services. The use and access of public to the green spaces on the city were determined by the surveys. Some proposals about the green areas have been developed in line with the elimination of current problems as in the study results.
