SIGNAL ENHANCEMENT FOR DIAGNOSTIC SIGNAL ANALYSIS

Two time-frequency distributions of rocket engine testdata are evaluated for rocket engine health monitoring. The data is enhanced by using Cadzow's signal enhancement. technique based on composit,e property mappings. Following signal enhancement, the Wigner-Ville and ChoiWilliams Distribution's are computed. Though tlie signal ediancement algorithm was able to reduce noise by 5-9 dB, on average, tlie time-frequency distributions were capable of discerning signal features without enhancement. Results a.re shown for data collected from the main combustion chamber of the Space Shuttle Main Engine.
