An Identity-Based Secure Multicast Protocol in IPv6

To meet the glowing security requirements and multicast demands of internet users, an identity-based secure source specific multicast protocol is proposed for the next generation IFv6 network. The presented cryptographically generated address is improved by making use of the benefit of the identity-based cryptography. So it can not only verify the validity of sender's IF address, but also verify the validity of sender's identity. The security of SSM is improved through the authentication and accesses control of multicast participant. The results of the analysis show that the protocol has high security property, and also has properties of independence on IF multicast infrastructure and favorable scalability.
