Chemically Modified Copper Ion-selective Field-effect Transistor With 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane

SUMMARY As a novel preparation method of Cu2+-sensitive membranes, copper ion-selective field-effect transistors (Cu2+ISFETs) modified chemically with 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) are investigated. The prepared CU~+-ISFETS showed the response time of less than 10 seconds and linear responses in the range from 10-5 M to 10-2 M with about 30 mV per decade change of copper ion activity. Chemically modified CU~+-ISFETS had fairly good selectivity and had roughly the same selectivity as the conventional Cu2+-selective electrodes with CuSAg2S as a Cu2+-sernsing material.
