Frequency offset locking system for narrow pulse coherent laser radar

Frequency offset locking technology is widely applied in laser heterodyne detection and laser radar, which is of great value. This paper introduces the principle of the frequency offset locking control system which is designed and applied for the narrow pulse laser heterodyne signal, does some researches on experiments and analyzes the factors which have a great influence on the discrimination results. The frequency offset locking experiments on the heterodyne signals with 40 ns pulse width and 100MHz center frequency are made and studied. The experimental results show that the system causes very few locking loses, and the locking accuracy is less than ±5 MHz.
