2GHz channel measurement in the urban environment and the investigation of channel dynamic properties

Over the Air (OTA) measurements based on Spatial Channel Emulator (SCE) have attracted attention for evaluating the practical performance of MIMO user equipment (UE) for LTE and IMT-Advanced systems. In SCE-based OTA, the channel models and scenarios can be simulated in an anechoic chamber by controlling the transmit probe antennas placed around the UE. Recently, channel models that consider time variant behavior have became important to evaluate the dynamic radio resource assignment techniques such as automatic modulation control (AMC), rank adaptation, and scheduling which are currently under investigation for LTE and IMT-Advanced systems. In this manuscript, we provide 2GHz channel measurements in a typical urban environment and investigate the dynamic channel property of the environment.
