A New Design of Practical Small-Scale Greenhouse Temperature Control System

At present, the conventional temperature measuring and controlling systems are mainly utilized in large modernized greenhouses in China and are, therefore, difficult to be popularized in the greenhouses of farmer households. In this study, based on a designing idea of multilevel distributed frame and multi-CPU,a practical miniature temperature measuring and controlling system is developed, which is composed of a host computer,a slave computer and an intense current controller. The slave computer, composed of an ATmega16 chip microcomputer and a 1-wire digital temperature senor DS18B20,is used as a gathering system to collect the greenhouse temperature parameters. The host computer, communicating with the slave computer by RS-485 interface,is used to communicate with man by friendly interactive graphics, and to comprehensively manage the greenhouse environmental parameters of controlling, displaying and storing, and to display the operational states of greenhouses.Owing to its low cost, this system is expected to be popularized successfully in the greenhouses of farmer households.
