The Display of Body Surface Maps

At present the measurement of body surface maps is rather easy because of the progress in the technology of amplifiers and microcortputers. A number of anall systems which can measure body surface maps in clinical practice have been published in literature. Before body surface mapping will be a normal clinical tool its significance for diagnostic purposes has to be proven. The manner of presentation of the measured data is an inportant aspect for the clinical acceptance of this new technique. This contribution treats two aspects of the presentation of body surface data: 1. the interpolation of the data as measured at a coarse, irregular grid to data at a dense, regular one; 2. the display of these interpolated data both in black and white and in colour.
