Forschen über (eigenes) Lehren und studentisches Lernen - Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). : Ein Thema auch hierzulande?

Since the 1960s, a discussion about the profile of university lecturers and the professionalization of university teaching has been lead in this country (following comprehensive historical predecessors of the last 250 years). When worrying facts such as low academic success rates emerge, conflicts flame up briefly just to regularly seep away again on purpose and leading neither to actions nor to consequences. The political will to draw lasting consequences from such facts is lacking among universities' providers and those responsible for academic careers. Ludwig Huber gives a new stimulus, fixing on individual teachers, their self-image and their job satisfaction. In his article, he searches for clues within the German situation, following a detailed reconstruction of the Anglo-Saxon debate, and finds a number of starting points on academic level. Such an idea has even been put to the test in the idea of a (classroom) researching teacher in the so-called school projects at Bielefeld University since the late 1960s. However, it was kept small by school administration.
