Mathematical modeling and analysis of dual-stator permanent magnet brushless DC motor

This paper presents a mathematical modeling for a dual stator brushless DC motor (DS-BLDCM). In this modeling, by considering the effect of the mutual linkage inductances between the two three-phase windings, differential and state-space equations of DS-BLDCM are derived. Also, finite element analysis (FEA) is employed on DS-BLDCM by ANSYS Maxwell software, while mathematical model is simulated by MATLAB-Simulink. Finally the results of two simulation are compared in order to validate the presented mathematical model. The results of two simulations show a good agreement.
