Auger line shift due to the post-collision interaction at large excess energies

A novel version of the classical model of post-collision interaction is proposed and extended to the cases when the energies of all the electrons involved in the process are of the same order of magnitude. Allowance is made for the finite time of motion of the Auger electron between the ion and the slower electron. The use of the model considerably improves the agreement between calculations and experimental data available on Auger line shifts at large excess energies.
