Analysis of the interference between WLAN and radar system for compatibility in the 5GHz band of Korea

The article discusses interference analysis for a wireless local area network (WLAN). It presents physical layer (PHY) performance results obtained by software simulation. With this, we made a model of two systems in the PHY and scenarios for interference analysis. The method is achieved by software simulations using MATLAB. The results are used to evaluate the performance based on the WLAN standard (IEEE 802.11a) in terms of parameters, such as packet error rate (PER), error vector magnitude(EVM) RMS constellation error and signal to interference ratio, and to analyze the compatibility of two systems. The result is useful for comparison and reference when WLAN frequency is allocated in Korea. (4 pages)
