MIMO Radar Nonideal Orthogonal Waveforms Separation via Compressive Sensing

The coupling noise of nonideal orthogonal transmitting waveforms seriously degrades the Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar imaging quality when using the traditional matched filtering separation method. In this paper, a novel separation method via Compressive Sensing (CS) is proposed, which directly reconstructs the target range images of different transmit waveforms. By using this method, the traditional matched filter banks can be replaced and the mutual interference among nonideal orthogonal waveforms can be effectively suppressed. Moreover, the range resolution can be improved and the sampling account can be reduced. Experiments using polyphase coded signals are performed to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.
